Time to receive.
When it comes to giving, most of us get a bit worried! This happens a lot when we see others giving save for us! And hey, it may not be the same case with you but I understand it's something many of us get to face during the course of our lives.
Good news is, that today we shall share on how we can get
rid of this embarrassment!
In Luke 10:38-42
which reads; “38 As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a
village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. 39 She had a sister
called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said. 40 But
Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to
him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work
by myself? Tell her to help me!”
41 “Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you
are worried and upset about many things, *42 but few things are needed—or
indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away
from her.”
Clearly what we pick
from verses 41 and 42 is that God doesn’t need you to do anything! In fact, all
He wants is for you to receive everything that he has done for you.
What you need in your life has already been given you in
Christ; you just need to believe in the word of God which tells you that, and
begin to thank God for whatsoever things you may be needing to manifest in your
life! That's the mind with which we access the throne of Grace and Mercy and
relate with God! That is what Mary was doing; sitting around Jesus and
listening to what he had to say. By sitting around the word even as we are in
the word(Christ) the deep in you connects with the deep in the word and you get
to clearly understand that all you need is in you; you just have to bring it
out!
God didn’t come to make you work but he came for you to
rest. Christ in you is the reason for you to live in the Rest of God!
God didn’t come so you could keep on worrying about any
concern of this life but rather, He took on your form and bore all your
sufferings in order to have you enjoy a peaceful salvation life!
Why am I saying all this? It's about time you started
receiving from God because it's only then that you can have what to give to
this world. Because He has given you all things pertaining to life and
godliness! (2 Peter 1:3) Wake up and smell the coffee!
We can all attest to the fact that there are so many
problems in this world and you got the solution in you! But again you will
never be able to give solutions to the world unless and until you learn the art
of receiving from the Master what was freely given to you and made available in
Christ!
Here is my challenge for you today, that you may learn to
receive from God see how wonderful your salvation life will become!
You may be asking yourself this question; How then does one
receive from God? The answer is this simple; We receive from God through His
word! Believing and taking a hold of what the word of God says about you is
equal to you receiving it in your life! And by prayer we see what we actually
believed we already received by word.
How often do you go to the Father just to receive from Him?
(His word)
Lemme get this straight too; Understand that when you are
receiving from God, you are doing nobody a favor but you!
Also know this, that world is waiting just to see the kind
of solutions that will come out of you; The only way you can give solutions is
by learning to see yourself as a solution as well and that can only happen when
you learn to receive from him.
Stop living a self-centered life because the solutions you
carry are not just for you but for the world! Learn to live for the world.
Don’t skip the any stages this God-life; Obey and allow God
to take you through each one of these stages.
There is time to receive and there is time to give.
And from the above paragraphs, we learnt that through His
word we have been given all things. What is left is only for us to receive it
all!
When you come to the word, do you come as one ready to
receive or as one seeking to be given? If you can take time to receive now, you
won’t stress a lot when it comes to giving. This is really practical.
Our receiving precedes our ability to give! Before you even
worry about why you are not giving as you ought, question your receiving
capacity! The real problem is with how you receive from the word of God when
attending to it, that is what should worry you!
Your capacity to receive from the word of God will determine
what you can give when the opportunity knocks!
In other words, you can only give what you have received ...
If you have received God's wealth, then you will be able to teach the world
into wealth; if you have received the love of God in your life then you will be
able to give and teach the world true love, ...
I could go on and on but concluding I could say that; the
pattern is that you first receive it from God to be able to give it to the
World!
