Our True Inheritance

Many a-times when people talk about inheritance , what comes to one's mind is houses , cars ,businesses and so on.

This is good but it all subject to change; it can fade. 

It can't be relied because you know it can be end any time.

Thank God that our inheritance as children of God is not in any way close to that of the world. 

Ours is eternal, Halleluyah. It is beyond the reach of change!

 1 Peter 1:4 [Born anew] into an inheritance which is beyond the reach of change and decay [imperishable], unsullied and unfading, reserved in heaven for you,

5 Who are being guarded (garrisoned) by God's power through [your] faith [till you fully inherit that final] salvation that is ready to be revealed [for you] in the last time.

We who have believed on Christ were born into a special inheritance.

The kind of inheritance were born in is not as the inheritance a man can leave behind for his children, no!

Because what men can give is only but perishable; it has an end; it's subject to change .

God being eternal can only give a special kind of inheritance to his children; an inheritance that is eternal.

This inheritance we have in Christ can not fade; it's always great and abides great. 

It's long lasting; it's what no man on earth can ever give you; because it's not built on what seen(what is temperal). It is eternal.

You may wonder, what this inheritance that God has laid up for us?

According to John 3:16 , we read that for God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son that whosoever believeth on Him does not perish but have everlasting(eternal) life.

What does this tell us ?

That God our Father thought of nothing else precious enough to give us as our inheritance other than the knowledge of Him.

Our inheritance is embedded in simply knowing more and more of Him; the knowledge of God keeps us from falling off the path He laid out for us to walk in.

Our knowledge of Him keeps us strong in Him and able to win the wars we encounter during our course on earth.

Our knowledge of Him keep us humbled by Him; He remains as our wonder regardless what issues we may face.

Our knowledge of Him keeps us in constant communion with Him and keeps our relationship growing each time.

To know Him in a more advanced way; this is what our Father loves to see us do and taken up by. 

Because He loves us greatly. And He knows how great knowing Him more and more it would make us ; for it makes us just like Him.

And it's through this knowledge that we get to freely believe in God and and are thus able to walk in the power of His protection.

Because you know God a certain way, you are able to believe Him more freely. 

There is an assurance that comes with this knowledge and it makes you trust God more freely because you know Him a certain way.

You know Him even as you are known; you know Him more than you know any other person or thing.

That's why Epignosis (The Advanced Knowledge of God) is our inheritance. 

To know our Father in a  more advanced way; so that we may be able to commune with Him more freely and perfectly.
